Mofo Gasy, traditional bread

I wanted to publish a little local recipe for a long time, today to launch a long series, this will be the Mofo Gasy.

This word means "Malagasy bread". It is made from rice flour, sugar and traditional sourdough. This traditional cupcake is eaten at home and also in the small coffee stalls on every street corner in almost all parts of the island.. It is often eaten for breakfast with local coffee or tea. On the coast, this bun is made from coconut milk and is known as mokary voanio or mokary coco (pronounce sledge-hammer)

Recipe for 15 pancakes (15 parts)

Preparation time : 10 mn , Break time : 2 H (minimum)

Cooking time : 30 mn

Ingredients for vanilla Mofo gasy.

1/2 cup whole wheat baking flour

2 tablespoons of rice cream

1/4 + 2 c. instant yeast

2 tablespoons of sugar

3/4 cup of lukewarm water

1vanilla bean or vanilla extract will do the trick.

A pancake mold.

Preparation of Mofo gasy with Madagascar vanilla

In a container, Mix the flour, cream of rice, the yeast, 1 c. sugar and lukewarm water. Stir well. Cover the container and let rise between 1 to 2 a.m.. Plus, the dough is resting, the better it will be.

Incorporate the rest of the sugar and the vanilla. Mix to combine. Cover and set aside until the appliance foams (30 to 45 minutes).

If you have a very hollow small pan or a simple, heat the mold over medium heat. Oil the bottom of each cup and pour about 1 tablespoon of batter in each hot scoop. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes until the bottom is golden. Using a wooden fork or skewer, turn them over and do the same for the other side.

advice :

Serve hot for breakfast, serve with your coffee or tea with milk.
